Minister Weeks Encourages Safe and Respectful Celebrations this Bermuda Day

As the Island prepares to celebrate Bermuda Day this Friday, the Minister of National Security, the Hon. Michael Weeks, JP, MP, encourages residents to enjoy the holiday with pride, care, and a strong sense of community.
“Bermuda Day is a celebration of who we are, our culture, our roots, and our resilience," said Minister Weeks.
"Whether you are watching the parade, cheering at the races, or spending time with family and friends, let us remember what this day means to our Country and our people. This day ought to be filled with peace, love and harmony all across our shores."
Minister Weeks noted that while public holidays are often filled with joy and togetherness, they can also bring moments that test our unity and sanctity. The Ministry encourages everyone to be responsible over the Bermuda Day weekend and make choices that protect lives and strengthen our bonds as a community.
“We should honour this holiday in a way that reflects the best of who we are. Take care of ourselves and each other, show love, and help make this a positive weekend for everyone.”
The Ministry of National Security wishes all residents a safe, joyful, and meaningful Bermuda Day holiday.
