Minister of National Security Encourages Safe and Celebratory Spirit for National Heroes Day Weekend

As Bermuda prepares to enjoy the National Heroes Day holiday weekend, Minister of National Security Michael Weeks encourages all residents and visitors to embrace the celebrations with a spirit of unity, respect and enjoyment.
Minister Weeks offered the following message: "This weekend is a special time to reflect on the achievements of our National Heroes -- men and women who helped shape Bermuda into the proud community we are today.
“From the King's Parade on Saturday, to Father's Day on Sunday, and the vibrant carnival festivities on Monday, including the early-morning J'ouvert A.M. (JAM) procession and the Revel De Road Carnival in the afternoon, this weekend is full of moments to celebrate who we are as a people.
“Please take this opportunity to enjoy the events, spend time with family and friends, and honour the values that bring us together.”
The Minister also extended warm Father's Day wishes to all fathers and father figures across the Island. "Your role in the lives of your families and the broader community is invaluable. I wish you a joyful and relaxing Father's Day," he continued.
Looking ahead to the days of celebration, Minister Weeks encouraged everyone to take advantage of the good weather forecast by enjoying the outdoors responsibly, including any marine and boating activities planned for the weekend.
“I know many will be heading out on the water to enjoy the beautiful conditions, and I encourage everyone to take the usual precautions to keep yourselves and your loved ones safe," he added.
“As we celebrate this weekend, let's do so with kindness, consideration and care for one another. I wish everyone a safe, joyful and memorable National Heroes Day weekend.”
